I’ve been in talks with a public hospital in Melbs about my charitable work and I’ve just been asked to join a new fundraising/support group called ‘Young Friends of the Hospital’ with one of those Young People of the Year types.
The only thing is I am not technically young! I am turning 32 mid-year! For the record, I think that 26 is the end of youth. It was at that time that I started carrying my lunch to work in a plastic bag instead of a backpack.
When does adult youth end? Is there an accepted jumping off point?
There is a horrible big dog in the house next door to my Mum (who knew she should have bought it) and Monty and Gracie, the Siamese Cats, are terrified. Poor things they have been so protected. Gracie could really need counselling after having been exposed to it and Monty, well he will probably just shut down. He has bipolar disorder.
Will it eat them is the question I’m asking!?
Mums hubbie Craig said it could easily jump the fence. He is very worried. Crikey, I haven’t seen it yet but I bet something horrible is going to happen! Tiger - the ‘normal’ cat - is not worried at all though. And seeing as he is fat, gray haired and old and creaky- he may just go first. He’s so cuddly though. A real under acheiver in the attention stakes but always good for a quick squeeze.
The big news for me however is that I’m applying to do a correspondence ‘Diploma of Fundraising Management’ tomorrow. Not sure where it will take me but I’m really looking forward to it. It should be fun.
